Xiaomi recently tipped off the Redmi Note 4X, touted to be Note 4’s successor, in China and this the first time that the company is not shying away to release some specifications for a yet to be launched smartphone.
India recently received the much awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, which is already destroying every sales chart and this tipp off about a successor has created confusion among the buyers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X will be launched in two variants, one of them being the Hatsune Miku Limited Edition which is a Valentine’s Day exclusive. The Hatsune Miku Limited Edition is just a green coloured version of the smartphone in question the Redmi Note 4X will be made available in Matte Black, Cherry Powder, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver Grey variants.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone is just a Redmi Note 4, under the cover and will feature a 5.5 inch (1080×1920 pixels) HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, 13MP sensor at the back, 5MP front camera, a 4100 mAh battery and 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage. However, the price details and additional features list have not been disclosed as of now and they are expected to be unveiled before the sale day.
So What’s New?
Well, to start with, China never had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 powered Redmi Note 4 as MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core SoC was powering the smartphone till now. Android Nougat 7.0 coupled with the new MiUI 8.1 is also expected to debut in China.
Last and the most important addition is the Hatsune Miku Special Edition which is a dream come true for many. While the concept seems to be unknown in the Indian market, it is quite a bit popular application in Japan.
The application features a holographic avatar of a 16-year-old girl that sings and groove to the music. The app was earlier launched only for Windows and macOS users but Xiaomi is now bringing the fan following to China with an Android based version.
When the rumors about Xiaomi Redmi 4X were doing the rounds, we expected the smartphone to lift up it’s own benchmark by launching it with 6GB RAM, updated front camera and even a Snapdragon 835 SoC, but our dreams to have an unparalleled smartphone without making a hole in our pockets, still continues.
However, as for Indian Redmi fans, there is no need to deviate from trying to buy a Redmi Note 4 from those ‘blink and lose’ flash sales and for those who already managed to get their hands on this new flagship killer, your smartphone is still unbeatable.
