As Mobile World Congress gets closer, every smartphone manufacturer is putting its plans into action to launch the lasters and the greatest of mobile devices which will lay down their foundation for 2018.
After successfully launching the Nokia brand last year, HMD Global is returning to MWC 2018 to unveil the next chapter of Nokia’s resurrection with a new flagship. Dubbed as the Nokia 9, this is one of the hotly anticipated smartphones that are scheduled to be launched this year. The company has already sent out invites for an event on 25th February, the same day when Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy S9-duo.
Although Nokia 9 has been subjected to a number of leaks in the past, a new listing of its protective cases on Amazon has confirmed a couple of features as well as the design theme. The Nokia 9 cases are manufactured by HualaBro and Terrapin and most of these listing comes with 3D renders of the handset revealing the design to a large extent.
The images show that the Nokia 9 will come with a dual camera setup at the rear which lies aligned vertically and a fingerprint sensor placed below the sensors. An LED flash sits beside the camera while another cut-out for a sensor placed beside the camera hints towards a heart rate monitor, which HMD Global was earlier rumored to use with the Nokia 9.
Nokia 9 Expected Specifications
5.7-inch (2560*1440) OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
Android Oreo out-of-the-box
12 MP + 13 MP dual-camera setup at the rear with Carl Zeiss optics and a 5MP front-facing camera.
3250 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging.
Apart from the Nokia 9, which is going to be the ultimate flagship of HMD Global’s first lineup of Android smartphone, Nokia 1 is also expected to be unveiled at MWC 2018 which is rumored to be powered by Android Go and will compete in the entry-level segment in developing markets.

Everything said and done, considering the expected price-tag of Rs 44,999, users might won’t even miss the AMOLED display, however, it could have been a welcomed feature. On the other hand, if all these rumors end up being true, Nokia 9 will definitely hold the key for HMD Global to compete with the likes of Samsung’s S9, the upcoming LG G7 and other flagships from HTC or even Apple.
