The neck is said to be the most arousing part of a woman’s body, however, most of us tend to be insecure about the dry and dark skin around it. Especially nape of the neck and base of the throat makes that beautiful scrag look unpleasant. The cruel heat and rays of sun make it seem like a broad dark scar on the body. The exposed part of our neck resists tanning, air pollution, heat and chills of the atmosphere. Leaving us with very little chances of hiding the after effects.
We do apply BB creams and foundations to match the scale of skin color, however, the dryness sold us off and leaves it to appear almost ugly. Everyone dreams of a flawless skin, don’t we? You don’t want any dark patches on our body, so how to fight this battle and take care of dry and dark skin around your neck?
Here are a few ways to get rid of dry and dark skin around your neck and make it flawless. All you need to do is to follow some simple personal hygiene regimens and your problem will be solved as it never existed in the first place.
1. Take Steam.
The process is as similar to blackhead removal. You have to steam your neck to lighten the patches. It’s the first step. You need open pores to apply the remedies so that the effect stays longer. Steaming will unclog the upper layer of your neck and soften the dirt clogged with it. You can include steaming your neck into your daily routine for better results.
2. Exfoliate
All those dead cells are the reason behind dry and dark skin around your neck. Now that you have prepped your skin after steaming, you need to scrub it. You can use exfoliants available on the market or you can make one at home. If you have a sensitive skin then better make a DIY scrub. Go for a mixture of yogurt and sugar, or mix oats and tomatoes. Do it twice a week for better results.
3. Don’t Forget To Mask It.
Our neck deserves more attention that we actually provide it. After you steam and exfoliate, apply a mask. You can pick a commercial anti tan mask or dig your kitchen to make one. Just mix milk, lemon juice and turmeric or egg white, honey and plain yogurt. It will soothe your skin, as well as lighten it. Apply this mask for at least 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with normal water.
4. Moisturise
It almost sounds like the facial regime, however, moisturizing is essential if you really want that dry and dark skin around your neck to vanish. It restores the ph level of your skin and hydrates it. If you have an oily skin, you can opt for lightweight moisturizer or aloe vera gel.
