From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various other world leaders, almost everyone is currently at the World Economic Forum which is being held at a small Swiss ski-town of Davos. However, among such big names, there’s one actor whom many may not have anticipated about – Shah Rukh Khan.
The Raees actor was keeping his fans aware of his presence in the alps with quite a few fun pictures and tweets on his social media.
On Monday, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the 24th Annual Crystal Award at the 48th World Economic Forum, along with Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett and singer-songwriter Elton John. These stars received the award for their work raising awareness about human rights issues.
Shah Rukh Khan received the award for his work championing the rights of children and women in India. In particular for his non-profit Meer Foundation, which provides support to female victims of acid attacks and major burn injuries through medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training, rehabilitation and livelihood support.
While accepting the award, Khan said, “Extremely charged that I’ve had this amazing opportunity, this award, being recognized like this for minuscule work that I did, I’d like to do it with even more fervor. What is even more pleasant is that India is here in full power.” He even went on to thank his wife, daughter, and sister for teaching him the value of requesting, sometimes imploring and begging a yes from a woman, instead of forcing it upon her.
