Almost 73 killed and 110 injured in a fuel tanker explosion in north-western Mozambique. The incident took place when the residents tried to take petrol from the tanker at a small village in the Tete province of Mozambique. The tanker was taking the fuel from the Port City of Beira to Malawi and was on the border when the incident occurred.
It is not yet clear if the tanker was selling fuel to the residents or was ambushed by them. However, the reason behind the tanker bursting into flames is said to be the heat, which is not yet confirmed. Mozambique is known for its terrible temperature and is one of the world’s poorest countries, where people are constantly struggling for money and food.
Various medical teams rushed to the site of the explosion and started their rescue operation. After catching fire, a majority of people rushed to the nearby river in order to save their lives.
Three important Ministers are said to arrive today, in order to check the ongoing rescue operation.
