Donald Trump, in a desperate attempt to somehow win the Presidential Elections, claimed that if he is elected as the President of the United States of America then he will make sure that India and USA become the best of friends.
Donald Trump’s performance in the recent public polls has downgraded after his loss in both the Presidential Debates and his outrageous comments on various topics such as women and immigrants. All his previous strategies have failed and now his own colleagues have started distancing themselves from him.
Trump came up with a new strategy and attended the Republican Hindu Coalition event majorly consisting of Indo-American citizens. The group was formed by Chicago-based businessman Shalabh Kumar in 2015. Kumar has deep ties with the Republican Party and his foundation focuses on the well-being of Indians in the US. The Republican Hindu Coalition has donated around $ 1.5 million to the Republican Party’s election campaign and has also promised to donate $10 million in the current election cycle.
The event was a fundraiser for helping terror victims in America. Mr. Trump was quick on capitalising the situation and tried to woo the second largest Non-American community with his comments.
Donald Trump said that America and India are going to be the best friends and this will be the most important agenda after his appointment as the President of the United States.
Trump also stated that he would be willing to act as a mediator between the ongoing tiff among India and Pakistan. On the other hand, India has always opposed a third party intervention between Pakistan and itself and the statements by Donald Trump would not impact the Indian voters living in the US.
If he would have made these statements about America’s relations with India prior to his debates, he would have had much better chances in wooing the Indian voters in the US. However, after seeing a large number of Pro Trump banners at the event, he surely seems to have a large following among the Indo-American voters.
