What’s Wrong? is an amazing short film that realistically delves into the realms of depression and mental health which shocking affects 60% of our country’s population. Yet, we fail to understand, talk and express about it because apparently, people still can’t differentiate between momentary sadness and depression.
We need to understand that one can simply not ‘get over it’ and try something uplifting to shoo away depression and all the shades that it comes in. What’s Wrong? portrayed some 6 minutes from a woman’s life and those were enough to understand how much difficult depression is for a person. These 6 minutes might come out as identical to how one feels on some days or even every day, for that matter. Which makes it all the more actual and real.

In one of the scenes of the film, the lead fills out a survey and in that, there’s a question about – Are you depressed. She wents on to tick a no on that question which answers so many questions and queries about how at times even you don’t know if you’re suffering from depression or not. Anxiety is another shade of this illness placard which makes it too difficult to just slap a smile on.
If even you end up asking yourself at times – What’s Wrong? – then please seek help. From your friends or family or even from someone professional. Depression is too strong to simply brush it under the carpet, it is just like any other illness and it should be treated like one.
‘What’s Wrong?’ is directed by Shraddha Singhvi and is an initiative by Skadoosh Films in association with Aasra.
