Has it ever happened that you desired buying a brand new car but instead ended up with a phone cover in the shape of a car? Sounds a bit weird, right? In other examples, have you ever received an airplane sticker having originally ordered a flight ticket? Usually speaking, no one has ever been handed a fridge magnet especially when one ordered an actual refrigerator, right? Such weird occurrences are best suited for slapstick comedies that are, at the end of the day, no-brainers. What do you think?
But believe it nor not, an individual recently ended up receiving an iPhone-shaped coffee table when he had originally planned to acquire an iPhone! In what can only be called comedy imitating life, at the center of the incident stood a completely outfoxed Thai teenage boy and an item he just hadn’t planned to receive: the coffee table in the shape of an iPhone!
And oddly enough, the Thai teenager had actually thought that he had successfully bagged a cheap iPhone deal, only to be utterly surprised at receiving a coffee table, at the end of the day.
It turns out, the teen in question had originally spotted what ‘looked like’ an iPhone in a commercial in a magazine. Thinking it to be the actual iPhone, he went ahead with placing the order. But then, who was to know what was in store? It must be asked, just how morale crushing (of hopes) would the incident have been? Imagine being in place of the Thai gent and being flummoxed at the end!

Surely, the boy must have been totally shocked at receiving what was anything but an iPhone in the end.
Here’s what a report published on noted Indian news network Republic had to say on the incident:
According to the reports by Oriental Daily, the teenager had purchased what he thought to be an iPhone from an e-commerce website at a very cheap price. The teenager was shocked at the size of the package when it arrived; it was almost his height. The images which have been posted show a white coloured table that actually looks like a huge replica of the front of the iPhone 8.
What’s rather weird is that when the final package arrived at his doorsteps, of what was to have been a proper Apple iPhone, it was about the same size as the boy who had ordered it instead of being a small-size delivery parcel.
The images, it is hardly surprising, turned into a viral storm over social media not long after the boy decided to share with the world the amusing story.
To conclude, it may actually seem strange that the entire incident wasn’t reported as a case of fraud or cheating. But just come to think of it- what would your reaction be if such an incident were to take place with you; how would you deal with it. Also, would you think of sharing the occurrence with absolute strangers over social media? Would it not lead to you being ridiculed. Brave enough on you Thai boy!
