New Delhi: The city of Kerala, finally has a new addition to its elongated list of tourist destinations.
The first of its kind destination offered by state tourism board – Jatayu Nature Park, having world’s largest bird sculpture, is open for the visitors, now.
It is built at the picturesque location at the Kollam district of Kerela where ‘Jatayu’ (the bird) is believed to have fallen from the sky.
Who Was Jatayu?
‘Jatayu’ is the mythical creature who fought with Ravana in a bid to safeguard ‘Sita’ from the devil. However, after a fierce battle, ‘Jatayu’ lost his wings and fell on the ground and later died.
World’s Largest Bird Sculpture
The park, which is spread across an area of 65 acres has the huge replica of the Jatayu. It is 200 feet in length, 150 feet in breadth and 70 feet in height.
Famous filmmaker Rajiv Anchal is the man behind the development of this unique bird sculpture. It is built on the 15,000 square feet platform at an altitude of 1,000 feet.
