It’s official, Apple is holding another launch event on October 13th. Experts and fans are now wondering how exactly the new smartphone will look and what it can do. An overview of the latest news and rumors.
Apple Sends Out Invitations for iPhone Events
Now the time has come as Apple has revealed the official date for the big iPhone event. Sure, officially Apple never reveals what exactly it is about. But, in this event, the new iPhones will be released, is certain.
Does the New iPhone 12 Mini Also Come in Green and Blue?
The fact that Apple wants to present a total of four new iPhone models next Tuesday is a foregone conclusion among insiders. The smallest and cheapest smartphone will be the iPhone 12 mini. Like the iPhone 11, the device will probably come out in rather atypical colors. The YouTube channel Everything Apple Pro has now created a computer visualization of the new iPhone 12 mini and has also incorporated the two new colors of the iPad Air, light green and a light blue.
A few months ago, however, other colors were rumored to be orange, a new shade of purple, and a light blue. But which colors it will actually be, will not be revealed until Tuesday.
The First Benchmark From iPad Air Surfaced
The presentation of the latest iPhones is only a few days away but there are already initial indications of how fast the processor of the new iPhone 12 could be. The iPhone enthusiasts have published the results of the Geekbench performance measurement program on Twitter for the new iPad Air should come from. Apple had already presented this in September but is not yet delivered.
The result is also interesting for all iPhone fans because the A14 processor that is used in the iPad Air will in all probability also be found in the new iPhone 12. The A13 in the current top model, the iPhone 11 Pro, has a single-core score of 1339 points, the multi-core score is 3122. This means that the A14 clearly improves performance and speed, especially when using multiple cores.
It is currently not clear whether the values of the A14 from the iPad Air are actually comparable with those of the iPhone 12.
Is Apple Bringing a HomePod Mini and New Headphones?
The big iPhone event is just around the corner, rumors are spreading about what will be presented there. Apple might use the day to present other devices. According to a report, Apple has started to clear audio equipment from certain manufacturers from the sales areas of Apple stores.
This could be an indication that audio devices will also be presented in addition to the iPhone. One of the products could be the AirPods Studio. This is the presumed name of the first over-ear headphones from Apple. They are likely to be found in the upper price segment of 300 to 400 dollars.

Also, observers expect the introduction of a HomePod mini. The HomePod itself, Apple’s first smart speaker, was praised for its sound in many tests, but with a retail price of 299 dollars, it is significantly more expensive than the products of the competition. Industry insiders believe that the HomePod mini could be constructed a little less elaborately and instead slide into a price range of 100 dollars.
No Apple EarPods in the iPhone 12 Box?
The Apple EarPods cable headphones will probably be missing from the scope of delivery of the iPhone 12. This is indicated by a descriptive text in the beta version of iOS 14 .2.
So far, Apple wrote that users should ideally use the hands-free system, the headphones, or similar accessories provided to protect against so-called high-frequency energy, i.e. radiation. This text was unchanged in the previous iOS version. In iOS 14.2, however, the word ‘Included’ in front of the headphones is missing.
