The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus is the successor to the Snapdragon 865 and has been improved in some places by a lot. The result is super impressive and should provide more joy, especially when playing games on the mobile phone. This mobile phone processor has it all. Let’s see what the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus has to offer.
Qualcomm is launching a new smartphone processor. After the Snapdragon 865 saw the light of day at the end of 2019, the Snapdragon 865+ is now the perfect upgrade. And that makes things a lot better because for the first time it has been possible to build a processor for smartphones that enables a clock rate of more than 3 GHz. A small quantum leap, so to speak.
But what is that for? Primarily for mobile gaming because Qualcomm highlights better gameplay as one of the core functions of the Snapdragon 865+. Along with that it would super efficiently rum multiple large applications that others phones start sweating with.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+: Eight Cores With More Speed
In detail, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ as a system-on-chip (SoC) is based on a Kyro 585 architecture with a total of eight cores divided into two clusters. A single-core, as Qualcomm calls it ‘CPU Prime Core’, creates a clock speed of 3.1 GHz. Three additional cores clocked at 2.42 GHz and four Cortex- A55 cores handle the baseload with a clock speed of maximum 1.8 GHz. The graphics unit Adreno 650 GPU was also able to accelerate Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ by 10 percent.
Future Android smartphones that are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ will, therefore, perform the tasks assigned to them more quickly. They are also equipped with other top features because the SoC, in combination with the separate X55 modem, also supports 5G connections. And it can implement WiFi connections based on WiFi 6. Also, of course, an NFC chip is integrated and Bluetooth connections based on the new version 5.2 are possible in the phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processors.

The First Smartphone to Get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+
Qualcomm expects new smartphones with the Snapdragon 865+ in the third quarter of this year. One of the first smartphones based on the brand new CPU will be the ROG Phone 3 gaming phone from Asus. The official launch of the device is scheduled for July 22nd.
ASUS ROG Phone 3
The countdown to the release of ROG Phone 3 has now started on the Asus website. According to the countdown, on July 22nd, the next gaming smartphone from Asus will be presented. The Android smartphone will probably be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 Plus and is supposed to offer 16 GB of RAM.
With the specified maximum of 16 GB RAM, it is easy to assume that it is an LPDDR5 module. The design of the Asus ROG Phone 3 is similar to that of its predecessor. It comes back in a similar rectangular shape with a horizontal camera setup on the back. With the dimensions of 171 x 78 x 9.85 mm, it is a very thick smartphone. The thickness and also the heavyweight of 240 grams are partly due to the large battery, which has a capacity of 6,000 mAh as with the ROG PHone II. It also supports quick charging via cable with 30 watts. Official information about the specifications will of course only be available from July 22nd.
