Lenovo has been going back and forth with the Indian launch of Moto X4, a smartphone that made its debut IFA conference in August and was made available in Europe first. For the unknown, Moto X4 is touted to be as Lenovo’s attempt at taking its mid-budget smartphone reign back from the latest entrants in the market, and the device has indeed glorified its capabilities with a big thump.
Launched at €399 in Europe and $400 in the US, approximately Rs 30,000, the Moto X4 was earlier scheduled for a launch in India in October, however, the date was pushed back due to some undisclosed reasons by Lenovo and the final unveiling will take place on November 13.
One of the biggest highlights of Moto X4 is the fact that it features both Google Assistant as well as Amazon Alexa as voice-based virtual assistants, while the handset also sports a metal unibody and packs a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. Other features include, a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and Android 7.1 (Nougat) out of the box.
As for its specifications, Moto X4 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080) full-HD LTPS IPS display offering 424 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
On the camera front, Moto X4 has dual 12MP + 8MP rear sensors at the rear with f/2.0 and f/2.2 aperture, respectively. The front camera comes with a 16MP selfie sensor with flash support. The device is backed by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging.
While the price tag of Rs 30,000 (approx) in India put the Moto X4 in direct competition with the likes of Honor 8 Pro and OnePlus 5, the two of the most sought after smartphones in this segment with better hardware, there now comes a leak which suggest that Lenovo’s final take of the year on mid-budget segment, might be priced way more competitively than expected.
A Twitter user named Zhao Yu, has just shared an image that reportedly shows the price tag of Moto X4. As mentioned in the leaked image, Moto X4’s 4GB/64GB version with model number XT1900-2 is priced at Rs. 23,999.
Interestingly, Moto X4 was first unveiled in three variants with a 3GB/32GB version and an Android One powered device, being the other two. However, it seems like the first batch of Moto X4 devices will come with the higher RAMs while there is still no update on the Android One Model.

Moreover, the leaked images show that the device, which was launched as a single-SIM smartphone, will support dual-SIM connectivity in India.
With the Moto X4 price in India now expected to be Rs. 23,999, should it turns out true, Lenovo might have a winner in this Moto G5 Plus-like product with a little extra power, a better front camera as well as a gimmicky dual-lens camera. That said, there’s also no doubt that the shiny Moto X4 back looks stunning and the curves add up to give it a premium feel.
