Sexual Awareness in our country stays only in various schemes and ads but nobody really focuses on sexual knowledge. Given the fact that people are still afraid to pronounce sex in public, there are so many myths and false perceptions which slowly make their way in our lives. Especially about condoms. Yes, that is true, despite all the erotic ads and “educational campaigns”, there are many myths about the condom that are doing rounds in our lives and it’s time you learn the truth.
So here are 5 common myths about condoms that are completely false.
1. You Don’t Need Condom If You Are Having Oral Or Anal Sex.
Seriously, people stop believing that condoms are used only to prevent pregnancy. It is one of many reasons. Condoms protect you from serious diseases like STIs. You are doing oral or anal sex with a partner who may or may not have an infection, and there is no other way, other than getting him tested so, be safe and use a condom. I am sure you don’t want to invite an unwanted disease to your system.
2. Condoms Don’t Have An expiry Date
For heaven’s sake guys, check the packet they do come with an expiry date. If you will care enough to just read it you will know. Also, over the top expression of “Expired condom is better than no condom” is just useless as it can give you irritation and rashes. The expired condom can break easily or it can lose its flexibility, so stop whining and get a new packet before you go play the game.
3. Condoms Are Uncomfortable And Lessen your Pleasure.
Many people claim that they don’t use condoms because they don’t feel enough sensitive down there. Well, the studies have proved it wrong. You feel the same except there are some condoms that are specially designed to delay orgasm but they give the same feeling. Before you think of feeling uncomfortable, think about the consequences of making your partner pregnant or worse an STI.
4. If The Girl is On A Pill Then You Don’t Need Them.
Again. having pills doesn’t mean that you are protected from STIs. Also, these pregnancy pills have enough failure rate so that precaution is not good enough. These pills also cause an imbalance in hormones so better use the cap than a pill.
5. Two Condoms Are Better Than Using One.
One condom is enough. Use it properly and it will reduce the rate of unwanted pregnancy and STIs. Double condoms are actually risky because the friction can cause the breakage which will make them leak. So the chances of breakage and leakage are higher when you use two condoms. Just use one correctly.
These 5 myths about condoms are causing major failures in safe sex. Just throw these myths out of your mind and start using condoms for safe sex. After all, we all have heard prevention is better than cure.
