Paris witnessed a horrific terror attack on Friday evening that killed 140 people and injured many others. The whole city turned out into a bloodbath when black masked a gunman opened fire on the civilians.
People were yelling, screaming and lying on the floors covering their heads. When everyone was in a bid to safe his/her life from the deadly bullets, a man miraculously escaped from the jaws of death with the help of his phone.
According to the French media reports, a man named Sylvester survived the deadly attack thanks to his smartphone.
Reportedly, he was talking on phone when the gunman opened fire outside State De France. The deadly bullet aimed at his head instead hit the Samsung smartphone he was holding. He fell on the ground with the sudden jerk, suffered little injuries but had certainly beaten the death.
Moments after the attack, he was pictured holding his Samsung phone, with smashed screen and dent on one side. Among others witnesses and survivors he also shared his harrowing account to the French media persons presents there.
“This is the cell phone that took the hit, it’s what saved me. Otherwise, my head would have been blown to bits. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” he said to iTele, a French news channel.
But not everyone was lucky like Sylvester. The horrendous attack has completely shaken the country. France has declared national state of emergency and tightened the borders.
However, Sylvester’s story is no less than a miracle. It also proves the old Hindi proverb ‘Jako Rakhe Sayian Maar Sake Na Koi’ to the core.
On a lighter note, as the Samsung smartphone has saved a life, we might see the mobile company coming up with promotional ads based on the similar issue. What do you think?
