While most of the ‘Common People’ are standing in lines to get cash, eBay India has come up with another strategy of making big bucks out of people’s desperation. eBay is selling the crisp notes of Rs 2000 on their website and you can never guess the price.
If you haven’t laid your hands on new Rs 2,000 note and are desperate to get one then you can simply go on eBay India and buy it at a hefty premium, starting from Rs 3,500. You can pay by online transfer or credit card and get it on your door steps.
Not only that, eBay is also offering Rs 2,000 notes starting with the number 786, so if you really believe in superstition and think that 786 is lucky, you can buy Rs 2,000 notes bearing the Islamic holy number ‘786’ at various prices. For instance, a seller offered a series of five Rs 2,000 notes for Rs 1.51 lakh and another note starting with the number 786 was sold for a whopping price of Rs15 lakhs.

This is not the first time people are willing to pay a huge amount for the goods that bear numbers with religious significance. In India, people have always paid a premium for vehicle number plates, residential addresses, notes or mobile numbers which bear a number with religious importance and eBay is simply making money out of it.
However, last year a legal notice was issued to eBay by Madhya Pradesh High Court for selling Indian currency carrying unique numbers.
So upon this news a spokesperson of eBay stated that no successful transactions have been made for such notes yet and eBay will disable such listings as they want to stay away from legal troubles.
