On Tuesday morning in Madhu Vihar area of New Delhi, Ministry of Corporate Affairs former director general B K Bansal committed suicide along with his 25-year-old son, Yogesh.
Bansal was arrested in July for accepting a bribe of 9 lakh from Mumbai-based Elder Pharmaceuticals, after which a raid was conducted in his houses for two days. Just three days after he was first presented at the court, his wife and daughter committed suicide.
In his 5-page long suicide note, he has mentioned that his family went through a lot of mental torture by 3 CBI officers, a DIG and a havaldar (lower-rank officer), which led them to take such an extreme step. Bansal mentioned in the note that the DIG allegedly told his daughter and wife, that they would be tortured to such an extent that they would just wish for death but won’t get it and even boasted about how no one will do anything to him as he has connections with Amit Shah (BJP President). However, BJP Spokesperson Shrikant Sharma stated that a lot of people assert to know someone but when they face them in reality, the assertion collapses and the truth comes out.
Yogesh Bansal, in his suicide note, said that he had to go through a lot of mental and physical torture by the officers as well as the pain of his mother’s and sister’s death, which forced him to take his own life.
Bansal portrayed his anger on why his wife and daughter had to suffer for his wrongful doing. He appealed from the government to make the officers take a lie-detector test and get the truth out of their mouth.
