The last anyone saw Christian Bale as the famous Dark Knight was in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. Following that, a few actors have tried to take over the imperious mantle from the noted English actor, including Ben Affleck with the latest in the line being Robert Pattinson. Of course, Pattinson’s Batman is yet to be fully shot as the famous American actor fell unwell on the sets having tested positive for COVID 19.
But it could be said, none following Bale have been able to essay the character with the depth and fortitude as the man behind Nolan’s most iconic film trilogy to date.
A character that’s more than some ordinary Hollywood adaptation of a cartoon sketch conceived by Bob Kane, not everyone has been able to lend such great spirit into the portrayal as the 46-year-old star. There’s been this profundity of emotion and the symbolic rising above the ravages and destruction that Bale managed with a sense of finesse hard to find in the others who followed in the said actor’s footsteps.
After all, to essay the Batman isn’t just another arduous task; it’s delving deep into an abyss of emotion where even an act of violence, savagery is backed by a purpose; a commitment to uplift a people. That is where the legend of the Silent Guardian stems from. When Bale portrayed Bruce Wayne, he underwent with an immense dedication this intricate body of work as captured in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises that ultimately became a liberating experience for those possessed by the love for Batman!
And it seems a massive upcoming project has succeeded- where reports are concerned- to convince Bale to return to the helm of the affairs as Gotham’s devoted savior.
So what is this news all about and how did the rumors start emerging?
So here’s what you need to know: according to the latest report published on a noted movie-dedicated platform “We Got This Covered,” apparently, the Warner Bros are in talks with Christian Bale to wear the dark cape once again. And the big possibility, of which one expects an official confirmation soon, is for the upcoming film The Flash.
The Flash, as per reports, is looking to reunite the previous Batmans, which means one may even get to see Michael Keaton too in the yet-to-be-filmed project.
But should Christian Bale agree to appear as the Batman once again, it would mean him turning his back on the idea of featuring in a fourth film.
Meanwhile, he was also quoted in the print on the possibility of starring in the illustrious role where he had to say the following:
When they came [to us after Batman Begins] and said, ‘You want to go make another?’ It was fantastic, but we still said: ‘This is it. We will not get another opportunity,’” said Christian Bale in his interaction with The Toronto Sun. “Then they came and they said, ‘OK, let’s do the third one.’ Chris [Nolan] had always said to me that if we were fortunate to be able to make three we would stop. ‘Let’s walk away after that’.”
