Cristiano Ronaldo has been named UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for 2016. Real Madrid’s player won the award ahead of Atletico Madrid forward, Antoine Griezmann and his teammate, Gareth Bale. The Portuguese captain has won this award for the second time and Argentine Messi is the only player who has had the honour of winning the award twice.
The former Manchester United man had a phenomenal season as his team is reigning Champions League holder and he also won the coveted European title for the third time in his career.
Ronaldo had probably the best season of his career, as he scored individual 51 goals in the La Liga and UEFA Champions League, combined. The forward also broke the record of Spanish legend Raul Gonzalez and became Los Blancos’ all-time top goalscorer. Gonzalez had scored 323 goals where Ronaldo currently has 364 goals for Real.
Fighting against all the odds the forward took Portugal to the Euro 2016 title.

The Women’s Best Player in UEFA Europe award for 2016 has won by Ada Hederberg, she plays for Olympique Lyonnais in France as a striker.
She won this award ahead of Amandine Henry, who plays for Portland Timber and Dzsenifer Marsozan, Hederberg’s teammate at Lyon. Hederbergplays for Norway and she is the first non-German winner of the award.
She won UEFA Women’s Champions League, French Cup and French League last season in which she scored 46 goals combines. She is also the first woman in 20 years to win Norway’s Gold Ball award.
