1. America dropped their “Mother Of All Bombs” on Afghanistan
Yesterday, the United States of America dropped their ‘largest non-nuclear bomb’ on Islamic State militants’ hideout in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. As per the updates, 36 terrorists have been killed in the attack. This weapon was code named, “Mother Of All Bombs” and was dropped out of the back door of an MC-130 military transport aircraft. The spokesperson of Pentagon said that the bomb was dropped at 7 pm local time. This decision of American President Donald Trump and his administration is being appreciated by top American Lawmakers who also said that this attack would send a clear message of America’s intentions towards wiping out terrorism.
2. Women Do Not Have To Change Their Name After Marriage On Passport Anymore.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that women are free to use their either parents’ name after marriage, on their passports. Any marriage related documents will not be required to be submitted while applying for the passport. PM Modi said this while addressing the audience at IMC Ladies Wing’s 50th Anniversary function. He said, “women do not have to submit their marriage or divorce papers for the passport. It will be their choice on using either their father or mother’s name in the document.”
3. India’s Export Grew By 27.59% in March.
India’s export grew by 27.59% in the month of March and this is the second consecutive month when the exports grew strongly. Last month, in February, the export grew by 17.5%. This month’s growth of $29.23 Billion (Rs 1.88 Lakh Crore) was largely the result of the high demand of petroleum and engineering products. The shipment of Petroleum products rose by 69% and engineering products by 47%. The overall growth in exports for the financial year of 2016-2017 was 4.71% which is the highest in last five years.
4. UP Chief Minister Will Organise Mass Weddings For Women From Minority Communities.
Minorities Affairs Minister Mohsin Raza on Thursday stated that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to fund the weddings of girls from minority communities, in the form of mass weddings. Along with this, the government will give a sum of Rs 20,000 to the girl after the marriage, as per the scheme. Raza also said that, as Muslim community is the largest minority in the state, Muslim girls are expected to be the biggest beneficiaries of this scheme. This scheme would soon be added to the state’s 100 days programme.
5. North Korea Will Conduct a Nuclear Test
North Korea’s Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol, said on Friday that the nation will conduct nuclear test whenever supreme headquarters deems fit. He further added, “Pyongyang won’t ‘keep its arms crossed’ due to US’ pre-emptive strike.” Han Song Ryol went on blaming the US President Donald Trump for ‘making trouble’ with his aggressive tweets. The statement comes in the wake of Trump’s tweet that said: “North is looking for trouble”.
