The World is a weird place in general, however, there are certain places in this world that are weirder than others.
We all heard of these weird places in our towns which are considered to be spooky and hold some pretty intense and deep dark secrets. But have you ever thought about the king of all such mysteries? Which is the weirdest place in the world that the experts have failed to know and understand about? We decided to gather a list of places that have baffled the mankind for ages about its existence. And, yes, we have moved on from Bermuda Triangle, because there are a lot of places more than this old-age horror story, that demands our attention.
Here are some of the haunted places in the world that would give you a spooky tickle from their existence.
1. The Catacombs (Paris)
The Catacombs in Paris can simply be described as your worst dream coming to life. This dead city located right beneath the bustling city of Paris has more than 6 million dead people’s bones. This underground city is open for visitors who wish to explore the dead.
2. Hoia Baciu Forest (Romania)
Hoia Baciu Forest in Romania is described as the world’s most haunted forest which has everything for those who want to find a little spooky in this World. It is said to be the hub of some intense paranormal activity and constantly provides stories of unexplained events. From ghost sighting to faces appearing in photographs and even UFOs, this place is full of haunted things. Baciu Forest is also said to be the Bermuda Triangle of the country, as many have gone missing from here.
3. Varosha (Cyprus)
Varosha is a well-established resort city which has been uninhabitable since the Turkish invasion in the year 1974. The invasion resulted in a quick evacuation from the city which is still kept at a stop. Varosha was one of the most popular resort city in the world in the early 70s and witnessed visits from people like Elizabeth Taylor and much more. Visitors are barred from entering the city and is covered with fences to stop the arrival of anyone over here. The city has been a standstill for more than 45 years now.
4. Jatinga (India)
Jatinga, a small village in Assam, India has been a part of weird and unexplainable things from last 100 years. With just 2,500 population of the village, Jatinga Bird Mystery is something that still baffles some of the greatest minds in the world. Every year, from September to November, many migratory birds commit mass suicide at this village. The incident particularly occurs from around 7 pm to 10 pm, just after sunset when hundreds of birds commit suicide by crashing into buildings and trees. Birds are not considered to be suicidal which is why this practice causes a lot of stir among the people in and around the village.
5. Island of the Dolls (Mexico)
If you were even remotely scared of Annabelle in The Conjuring, because let’s face it, it was scary as hell, then you should never even think of visit this place. Island of the Dolls in Xochimilco, Mexico is an uninhabited island with thousands of dolls hanged on its trees. As per a legend, once a young died near the island as the caretaker of the island was not able to save her, he hangs her doll on the tree in order to pay homage to the girl. However, after this incident, dolls began to wash ashore and the caretaker continued to hang them.
Many say that these dolls move their hands, legs and even heads. While one can visit the island in the daytime, pulling an all-nighter over here would be an absolute no-no.
All these places have that spooky touch to them that can make you give up on sleep today, however, the fascination surrounding these places is just on another level.
