Lenovo Z2 Plus has shed down a monumental Rs 3000 from its price tag and is now available for Rs 14,999 on Flipkart. The smartphone was earlier launched at a starting price of Rs 17,999 and was termed as one of the best options in mid-budget smartphone category.
With the Rs 17,999 varainat flaunting 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage, Lenovo Z2 Plus has seen its share of success in Indian market. Specifications like a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display, pixel density of 441 ppi, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC processor running under the hood, a 13-megapixel rear camera with electronic image stabilisation (EIS), PDAF, LED flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and 3500mAh battery, Lenovo Z2 Plus had ticked all the right boxes after its launch but the price tag was somewhat indigestible for many.
Lenovo Z2 Plus has a sibling featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which has also shed a respectable sum of Rs 2500 from its price tag and is now available for Rs 17,499 instead of Rs 19,999. This means, now Lenovo is offering the most promising VFM smartphone in the mid-budget category. How? Let us tell you how!!
After the price cut, Lenovo Z2 Plus’ 3GB+32GB variant is the one and only smartphone offering Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor in the sub Rs 15000 category and the 4GB+64GB variant is offering almost everything that a smartphone buyer can ever aspire and that too without charging a bomb for it.
For those who can’t afford to buy a Mi 5 or OnePlus 3, Lenovo Z2 Plus is the next BEST alternative as the smartphone further features a U-health app for tracking steps, calories burnt, distance covered and also a fingerprint scanner at the back.
Meanwhile, the price cut comes just a few days before Xiaomi is expected to launch its Redmi Note 4 in India which is further expected to bear a price tag between Rs 12,500-Rs 15,000. The Chinese version of the smartphone bears a 5.5 inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display and is powered by MediaTek Helio X20 SoC, however, the Indian version is expected to flaunt not less than a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
For a long time now, Xiaomi has dominated the budget and mid-budget smartphone category but Lenovo has also beefed up its arsenal and is eyeing the numero uno spot in Indian smartphone market. From launching Lenovo K6 Power at a starting price of Rs 9,999 to launching multimedia focused smartphones through its subsidiary Motorola, Lenovo is leaving no stone unturned to turn the tables in its favor.
And now, it’s either Xiaomi or Lenovo that comes to our mind while talking about the budgeted smartphone segment in India.
Indian buyers on the other hand are in for a treat because the aftermath of this competition is definitely going to result in more competitive prices in segment and it’s a proven fact, whenever companies like Xiaomi and Lenovo have collided in the past, consumers had turned out to be the winners, Always!!
