Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt who won a bronze medal in London Olympics 2012 in freestyle wrestling is celebrating his one of the happiest moment today.
His bronze medal has been upgraded to silver! Isn’t that great news for all the Indians? Well, apparently silver medallist from the 2012 Games, Besik Kudukhov of Russia has been stripped off his medal for using prohibited substance.
According to Russian agency flowrestling.org, the two-time Olympic medallist and the four-time World Champion Kudukhov, who died in a terrible car accident in southern Russia in 2013 has been found positive for dope test. This dope test was conducted by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
This results to an upgrade to Yogeshwar’s bronze medal. Yogeshwar won a bronze medal in men’s 60kg freestyle category and his Bronze medal may be upgraded to silver and he may join Sushil Kumar as another silver medallist from the London Olympics 2012.
The official confirmation from the International Olympic Committee and the United World Wrestling (UWW) is yet to come but our current favourite sports Twitterati Virender Sehwag couldn’t hold his excitement and tweeted something that is hilarious.
Viru paaji compared cricket, smartphone and Olympic medal all in one tweet.
