The saying ‘Truth Always Triumphs’ turned out to be true once again as Narsingh Yadav cleared all of his doping charges. He failed two dope tests but despite that he came out clear with both National Anti-Doping Authority (NADA) and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and they gave him a clean chit.
The Wrestling Federation of India had affirmed that Narsingh’s supplements were sabotaged. Though the investigation is still being conducted but the Indian Wrestler will join the Indian Wrestling contingent in Georgia. The 74 kg quota winner will have his first match on 19 August.
The President of Wrestling Federation of India, Brijbhushan Singh stated that he did declare a potential replacement but that was only provisional. Now that Narsingh is cleared of all the doping charges he will represent India. He also said that Narsingh is the top contender for India and he will immediately fly down to Georgia to join the practice camp.
He further said that only Narsingh can talk about how relieved he is after clearing his charges but Brijbhushan is happy that he could do justice to him. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Media for supporting the alleged wrestler.
Narsingh Yadav said that he is extremely thankful to PM Modi for supporting him in such a difficult situation. He said he is grateful to him and apart from that he would like to thank the Media and Olympic Association for backing him the way they did. He said that he did not stop training during this period and he will now continue his training in Georgia to win gold in Rio for India.
Vidhushpat Singhania, the lawyer of Narsingh stated that there will be zero punishment as Narsingh cleared all charges. If National Anti-Doping Authority challenges this decision then he will see what he can do. He also said that it was a 17-year old junior wrestler who mixed illegal substances in 74 kg quota winner’s drink. International wrestler Sandeep Yadav and his roommate were also tested positive. These dope tests were conducted on 25 July and 5 July but the NADA confirmed that in the second test, the substance level had substantially reduced.
The former Wrestling Federation of India spokesperson, Sangram Singh said that he is happy that Narsingh is finally representing India and has given a clean chit. He said that he is sure that Narsingh will win gold in Rio.
The intentions of the junior behind this act are still unknown. Narsingh will fly to Georgia tonight.
