Barcelona is desperately trying to sign Hector Bellerin, Arsenal’s full-back, for an undisclosed sum in the next summer transfer window and this has further increased Bellerin market value among the European clubs, as he currently holds a £100,000 per-week contract with Arsenal.
Barcelona is not going through the best of seasons, as their humiliating loss against Paris -Saint Germans and a close save against Leganes have raised several questions, and from Luis Enrique to his attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, everybody have faced huge criticism. The biggest problem that the club is suffering from is their diseased defence. Whether we talk about La Giga or the UEFA Champions League, Enrique has found it hard to deliver a respectable performance, if not the best ones.
Further, according to a Spanish Sports Daily, Héctor Bellerin is now the No.1 summer target for an increasingly desperate Camp Nou, which has heated up the things a little bit. Barcelona’s search for a dependable full-back has been well documented, talked about and has been unsuccessful for a couple of years now, and now it seems that they’ve turned their gaze on the 21-year-old who interestingly, matured as a footballer in La Masia Academy, before Arsenal signed him in 2011.

Héctor Bellerin played as a right-winger before moving to England, and is now one of Arsenal’s most important players after switching as a full-back. As a result, he is likely to command a large transfer fee, however, rumor has it that Barcelona is willing to shed a huge sum to meet Arsenal’s valuation as they really need to reinforce their defence this summer.
As for Luis Enrique, he was highly criticised for not signing a full-back last summer and his decision to convert winger Sergio Roberto into a defender was also not one of the best, actually it was the worst. The 25-year-old has struggled with the unfamiliar position and was also guilty of losing the ball to Unai López, who equalised the tally in the recent La Liga game against Leganés, which Barcelona narrowly won 2-1, thanks to Lionel Messi’s last-minute penalty.
