Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid’s star player has rejected an offer made by a Chinese Club which presented an agreement stating that Ronaldo will get £85m as annual Salary and the Real Madrid will be paid £256.6m for releasing the player.
Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s long time manager revealed the news while talking to Sky Sports Italia and said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s heart belongs to Real Madrid and both the player and the club came to a consensus about rejecting the offer.
China is a bulging market and Chinese clubs have been offering huge sums to some celebrated players for making a move to the country. Recently, Shanghai Shenhua, a China based clubs made Carlos Tevez the highest earning football player with a salary of £615,000 per week. In another transfer, ex-Chelsea player, Oscar made a £60 million move to China.
However, Jorge Mendes said “Money is not everything. Real Madrid is his life. Cristiano is happy at Real Madrid and it is impossible to go to China. Cristiano is the best player in the world and best ever. It is normal to have some offers”.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 23 times in 22 appearances for both club and country football and led Real Madrid to the La Liga title with a margin of 3 points ahead of arch rivals, Barcelona. He further claimed the Ballon d’or award in 2016 and gave his year a classic ending.
