Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese Star and Real Madrid Striker, was visibly displeased when he was taken out of the field during the game against Athletic Bilbao in the 79th minute and his reaction was enough to reflect that.
Real Madrid won that game by 2-1 without Cristiano Ronaldo goal, however, for the first ever goal of the match the striker partnered with Karim Benzema and the later opened the score tally. According to Spanish publication Diario Gol, Ronaldo was unhappy with Zinedine Zidane’s decision and his reaction irritated The White’s Captain, Sergio Ramos. The publication has revealed that the duo even had a heated argument after full-time and have not spoken to each other since.
Meanwhile, it is also said that Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy with Benzema’s performance as he has failed to set-up his teammates and has also scored just 8 goals this season. The Argentine, on the other hand, has scored just 19 goals in La Liga this season and his six behind Lionel Messi for the Pichichi award.
Further, according to Diario Gol, Zinedine Zidane is somewhat biased towards Benzema and all this have triggered a fire inside Cristiano Ronaldo. Sergio Ramos is not a fan of Ronaldo’s attitude and his confrontation after the final whistle has added to the frustration of the attacker.
Ronaldo is said to have not taken it well and the duo has not patched things up before going for on international duty with their respective countries.
Moreover, it’s not a hidden fact that Cristiano Ronaldo has some anger and ego issues and despite Ramos being the captain of the dressing room, the striker maintains that he is above any other player, thus the fall out.
If all this is true then, Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane are in big trouble because they are scheduled to play against Deportivo Alavés and the club is looking to extend their lead in La Liga with this game. The 32-year-old will need to put aside his differences with Ramos when they resume their club duties, otherwise a fall out is inevitable.
