After Defeating England, India was to face South Africa next. 24th Match Of the tournament was to be played at Kingsmead, Durban. After a spectacular win, India was roaring with excitement but the star player of the last match Yuvraj Singh was declared unfit and he was not part of the game. After hitting such raining sixes, Yuvraj was not playing for the match and that was a blow for India. India assigned Dinesh Karthik to played on the place of Yuvraj Singh. A good bat was out, so India had to balance it with a good display of batting as well as bowling. South Africa, on the other hand, made a change as well; Makhaya Ntini came in as a replacement of André Nel.
India decided it would be best to bat first. With a not good enough start M.S. Dhoni manages to smash 45 runs off 33 balls including 4 boundaries and 1 six. Rohit Sharma scored a splendid half century off 40 balls including extraordinary 7 boundaries and 2 sky high sixes. The partnership of Captain M.S. Dhoni and Rohit Sharma saved India. The team made a total of 153 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. A score of 153 runs was easy to chase.
