Just try and remember what all were you able to do when you were just 5-years old. The best you could’ve done was tying your shoelaces properly or was able to get back from school, on your own, granted that your school was nearby to your house.
When you are that age, you start dreaming about what you want to be when you get young but in case of Rudra Pratap, it was living his dream and becoming a child prodigy that took the whole cricketing world by storm.
The fact that Sachin Tendulkar was 15 when he made his first-class debut and Rudra Pratap was just five when this video went viral, in itself was an exciting content for the media. Moreover, since the video was shot just a year after Tendulkar hung his boots, people have started contemplating the idea that whether Rudra Pratap is the one who will take the reigns in the coming years?
One might think that such big words for a toddler seems a bit out of proportion but after seeing this video, we will definitely on the same page.
While the video was shot in 2014 when Rudra Pratap was just 5-years-old and was playing for Delhi Under-14 side, he is seen smashing the bowlers who look comparatively older than him.

Rudra Pratap takes the guard like a veteran and had to overcome several challenges with his cricketing gear as gears of his size are not available. However, the little master made a great decision by wearing the cap first and then the big helmet to get it fitting right. Moreover, he has used the thigh pads as a chest guard which is both funny and sensible at the same time.
In the video, Rudra can be seen extremely confident and playing some classic textbook cricket shots, from the moment he entered the crease. He didn’t run any cheeky singles that shows that he knew the value of his wicket, which in itself is a rare acumen to gather at this age.
For someone who is barely taller than the stumps, Rudra Pratap surely missed a few deliveries, however, when he made contact with the ball, one can’t help but notice his talent. He is playing cuts, drives and also leaving a few balls like a professional.
He surely looks good for the future and definitely has the ingredients to excel in the sport.
