IPL 2017 Match 22 KXIP vs MI: Mumbai registered their highest successful run chase.
IPL 2017 has been one hell of a tournament and since it’s the 10th edition of Indian Premier League, organizers are leaving no stone unturned to make it the biggest ever domestic league that Indian has ever seen, so do the players.
Next year, all the hottest properties will be put to auction as neither of the franchise will be able to retain any of its players. It doesn’t matter how they have played in the previous nine season, it IPL 2017 on the basis of which they will be judged and bet on. It seems like, players are keeping this fact in their mind and every single day, we witness some of the most blistering and opposition smashing performance from these players.

One such clash we saw during the IPL 2017 KXIP vs MI match where around 400 runs were scored and the result was decided in just the 16th over of the second innings. Kings XI Punjab was asked to bat first on the pitch that is famous for flattening out in the second innings and Hashim Amla knew he had to shoot from the word go and that is what he did. Giving Punjab’s innings a steady start yet keeping the run rate above 8 runs per over was not an easy task but his unbeaten knock of 104 off 60 balls was enough for giving his team a defendable total.
Here is Hashim Amla’s ball-smashing knock that included 8 boundaries and 6 sixes
And then came Glenn Maxwell who scored 40 runs in just 18 balls with the help of four boundaries and three sixes. If he would have managed to stay until the end, the result could have turned the other way. Each and every ball struck right in the middle of his bat and rocketed over the boundary, giving Mumbai Indians’ bowlers a run for their money.
Witness Maxwell’s love for Maximums here.
By the end of first innings, 199 runs were what Mumbai Indians had to chase in order to climb the IPL 2017 ladder for the numero uno spot and what happened next is just Madness!!
Parthiv Patel, a player who has played with a strike rate of 120 or so in IPL 2017 smashed an 18-ball 37 and it was enough for us to know that MI has entered the match with ana intent. However, it was Jos Buttler who butchers the KXIP’s bowling lineup and turned his blade into a magical wand. Irrespective of the variation that bowlers opted for, the Kookaburra strike right at the middle of his bat, how he wanted and when he wanted. The crowd turned into an additional fielder for KXIP with the ball continuously being smashed out of the boundary.
Watch Buttler turning into a butcher and scoring 77 runs off 37 balls (7 fours, 5 sixes)
When we thought that KXI Punjab had a chance for a comeback, in came Nitish Rana. what Mumbai Indians players were given to eat in the break time is still a mystery but what Rana did with his bat could only mean that they literally had a magic potion of some sorts. Rana has been consistent with his blade but this was the first time in IPL 2017 that he didn’t score a boundary but went for huge Sixes from the word ‘Go’.
outstndng knock by #buttler & orange cap holder #NitishRana hit 7 sixes 0 fours #KXIPvMI dont forget #hashimamla knock👌 #PurohitSecretFile pic.twitter.com/UVd8BElg7E

Even Hardik Pandya joined the party with his 4-balls 15 and helped his team romp up the IPL 2017 ladder and win the match against KXIP by 8 wickets with 23 balls still to spare.
P.S This was by far the most entertaining clash of IPL 2017. Both sides played exceptional cricket but Mumbai Indians came out as the better team, with a huge margin.
