Glenn Maxwell who was playing in the place of injured Aaron Finch made a monumental return to form. He scored unbeaten 145 runs and with that he scripted his name as the second highest individual scorer in T20I.
Australia posted a total of 263 runs with the loss of three wickets and won by 85 runs over Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Tuesday.
Australia’s total is the highest score ever made by any team in the T20I format.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, failed miserably to perform as the Australian bowler dismissed the team for 178/9 in 20 overs. Australia is leading in the two-match series by 1-0 against Sri Lanka.
Here Are The Highest T20I Team Scores:
Sept 6, 2016 – Australia: 3 for 263 v Sri Lanka at Kandy
Sept 14, 2007 – Sri Lanka: 6 for 260 v Kenya at Joβburg
Aug 29, 2013 – Australia: 6 for 248 v England at Southampton
Aug 27, 2016 – West Indies: 6 for 245 v India at Lauderhill
Aug 27, 2016 – India: 4 for 244 v West Indies at Lauderhill
So you see Australia is boastfully wearing the crown of being number one.
Well, after performing a blistering knock of 145 runs, Maxwell also won the Man of the Match. The recent T20 star said that he tried to hit on the areas based on the field. He also said that he finds the reverse sweep easier to play and he was lucky to take advantage of Sri Lanka’s loose bowling.
The captain of Australia, David Warner also complimented Maxwell and said that he would have batted first but as discussed with his coach, he decided to give an opportunity to Maxwell. He said,”Tonight was all Maxiβ.
Now Maxwell’s huge success became a topic of discussion and Cricket fraternity from all over the world, praised and wished him for his unbeaten knock against Sri Lanka.

Just watching the shot making. Batting has gone to a different level. Though that helps, it's not about pitches and ground sizes only now.

Back 10 overs 153? 100 partnership in 39 balls? Maxwell 145(65)? Head's 45 at a better SR? Total 263. What next? Bowler anyone?
