England’s versatile player Liam Plunkett on Tuesday hit a six off the final ball to tie the first ODI against Sri Lanka at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Chasing a competitive score of 286 runs, England collapsed on 82 for six. Jos Buttler came to bat and disturbed Sri Lankan bowling attack as he smashed 93 off 99 balls including 6 fours and 1 six.
Buttler was well supported well his fellow Chris Woakes with a brilliant knock of 95 off 92 balls. They both put up a massive partnership of 138 runs.
England required 14 runs in the final over with Chris Woakes (89*) and Liam Plunkett (15*) at the crease.
Nuwan Pradeep got the opportunity to bowl the 50th over. He bowled well till 4th bowl of the over and on the 5th he conceded 3 runs.

Now, All England fans were on their feet as they needed 6 to tie and 7 to win off 1 ball.
“Pradeep to Plunkett, smashed over long-off for a SIX, SriLankan fans couldn’t believe what happened on the field.”
Plunkett’s last ball six resulted in being a dramatic tie.
The 2nd ODI of five-match series will be played at Birmingham on June 24.
