Carlos Brathwaite was undoubtedly the star of the West Indies World Twenty-win, the exceptional player has named as the new skipper of the T20 squad of West Indies on Monday.
He sacked Darren Sammy and took the charge as the newest West Indies T20 skipper. Darren was removed on Friday, he was the captain of West Indies for six years and the team won 2012 and 2016 Twenty20 championships under his spell. He claims that Courtney Browne, the chairman of selectors dumped him over a 30-second phone call.
Carlos Brathwaite has been appointed as the skipper of the team for the two upcoming Twenty20 internationals that West Indies will play against India. These matches will be played at Fort Lauderdale in Florida on 27 August 2016 and 28 August 2016.
Brathwaite played a brilliant innings in this year’s World T20 final including the four sixes he smashed in the final over against England. His innings led West Indies to win the World T20 2016.
Courtney Browne, the chairman of selectors said that Brathwaite is one of the most talented players in the T20 format of cricket and his committed approach to cricket can inspire young and upcoming players.
Browne also said, “We are looking forward to a competitive series against India in these matches.”
Here Is The West Indies T20 squad:
