Cricket is a huge part of India’s sports culture and while Virat Kohli, M.S Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh have given some of the most memorable winnings to the country, Indian Blind Cricket Team is no less in proving that cricket runs in our blood.
The Indian Blind Cricket Team, which is organized and run by Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), has two of the most esteemed trophies engraved with their names. Blind T20 World Cup in 2012 and Blind One-Day World Cup in 2014.
Indian Blind Cricket Team’s captain, Shekhar Naik, has his name of the Padma Shri awards for 2017 and it’s considered to be a felicitous moment for the entire team as they are set to contend for their second win at the T20 2017 World Cup.
Earlier today, the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted on Narendra Modi’s behalf to congratulate and wish luck to the team, as the tournament kickoff from today. The Anthem for the T20 World Cup is also here, which is showcases the cricketers in their glorious form while practicing.
