Horrified by an extraordinary fightback from West Indies on the 5th day of the rain-hit second Test, Indian bowlers will have to give an exceptional bowling performance to win the third test and the series comfortably.
West Indies came back strongly on the first day of the third test and turned the one-sided match into a draw.
West Indies won the toss and invited visitors to bat first. After scoring a huge total of 566 in First test and 500 in the Second test, Indian batsmen lacked first time in the series as West Indies bowlers thrashed Indian top order under 100 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan continued his bad form from the second test match as he got out on 9 runs by Shanon Gabriel. West Indian debutant Alzarri Joseph, young thrilling fast bowler from Antigua surprised Indian skipper Virat Kohli with a stunning delivery and named the first wicket of his Test career which will definitely give Alzarri Joseph a boost in his test career as he opened his account with the wicket of one of the best batsmen in the world.
KL Rahul has been batting brilliantly since IPL season 9 and delivered yet another knock. He played a blistering innings of 50 runs off just 65 balls including 6 boundaries.
Rohit Sharma got the chance to play his first test in this series but couldn’t stand against thrilling West Indian bowling attack. Rohit sent back in hut by debutant Alzarri Joseph on just 9 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane, tried to build Indian innings, clean bowled by the star of the second test match Roston Chase.
Indian team was struggling after losing 5 wickets for just 126 runs.
Wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin stood against the West Indian bowling attack. They both played patiently and rescued Indian innings with a significant partnership of 108 runs.
Ashwin and Saha both were unbeaten on 75* and 46* respectively.
India finished Day 1 of the third test on 234/5.
We hope that they will play a good knock and convert their innings into tons.
