IPL 2017 is all set for a kick-off on 5th April and after the glorious home season consisting of ODIs and Tests, its time for an adrenaline rush which the Indian Premier League has in the cards for us. Wickets will be taken, the ball will be smashed, huge totals will be made but some of the must-see players will not endow us with their presence in IPL 2017.
Cricket has come a long way, all thanks to the quick-format, where during those 3 hours and 30 minutes, talent, as well as patience, are put to test, and one can neither slow down nor floor the paddle.
Indian Premium League is the most celebrated cricketing tournament in the world and all the success goes to the players who have fought with their blood and sweat in all the last nine seasons.
IPL 2017 will mark the 10th anniversary of the tournament and everybody is expecting to get thrilled in a way, they have never been before. However, numerous players have been ruled out even before the official kick-off.
Here Are 5 Players Who Will Miss IPL 2017 But We Wanted To See Them The Most
1. Murali Vijay
Indian Premier League was the stepping stone for Murali Vijay in International Cricket because, despite his exceptional performance in the domestic seasons, he was never able to express himself in the limited overs format. Now, Murali Vijay is one of the most dependable openers in India’s main team and has matured at an exceptional rate during the home season. However, he will miss out the whole tournament due to extensive physical strain.
2. Ravichandran Ashwin
The Chennai spin-sensation has been playing a lot of cricket in the last couple of years and due to his all-rounder capabilities, he has brought more muscle into every game. With great powers comes great responsibility. Keeping in mind the upcoming Champions Trophy and a long away season, Ravichandran Ashwin will also put his muscles to rest and has been ruled out from IPL 2017.
3. KL Rahul
The man who was consistent with his batting throughout the home season, will be missing out the IPL 2017 entirely due to his shoulder injury and won’t be able to stand with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 10th edition of Indian premier league.
4. Umesh Yadav
Throughout the long and tiring home season, Umesh Yadav was one of the pace bowlers who were consistent and provided a breakthrough whenever their team needed one the most. Yadav has taken several wickets in the recently concluded season and for that, he bowled a hell lot of overs. As a precautionary measure and to avoid extra fatigue, Umesh Yadav will miss out a few early games for KKR but is expected to join the squad soon.
5. Ravindra Jadeja
The one allrounder who remained consistent and disciplined with both the blade and the ball was Ravindra Jadeja. The one-half of the Indian spin attack climbed to the numero uno position in ICC Test Bowler Rankings, going past his partner in crime Ravichandran Ashwin. He has also been put to rest for the initial stages of IPL 2017 and will join his duties with Gujarat Lions after a couple of weeks.
Virat Kohli, meanwhile, has also been completely ruled out of the tournament due to his shoulder injury that unknowingly triggered a controversy that we will remember for a long time. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was the favorite to win IPL 2017 and it would have been a victory to remember for Indian Skipper as well as for the fans.
However, AB De Villiers will join RCB with the skipper cap, but it looks like the time is not right for the team because the South African was due to play for the Titans in the Momentum Cup, but was ruled out due to a back injury. The extent of the injury is not yet known and there has been no official statement regarding his participation in the IPL 2017.
