Chai is not just a beverage for Indians anymore, it’s a way of living life and being available in the reality. For some, it’s the only thing that keeps them well-connected to the world and they just can’t think of going without it. I personally know people who stop functioning like normal human beings without their hourly dose of chai every day.
And, while the love for chai might bind billions of people all around the world, there’s one thing that will always divide them and that’s the addition or change in their regular chai. Some like elaichi, some don’t, some like masala, some don’t, some like too much sugar, some don’t, all in all, one just can’t bring them all on the same ground. The same is happening for this chai joint in Pune that serves Tandoori Tea. This extremely interesting and intriguing chai is made through a unique tea making procedure.
Recently, ANI covered this chai joint and asked them about their tea. They shared few pictures and said, A Pune based tea shop sells ‘Tandoori Tea.’ Shop owner says, ‘we have a unique tea-making process. We first roast kulhads in a pre-heated tandoor & pour semi-cooked tea into the extremely hot kulhads. We let it bubble over & once done, the chai gets a smoky flavour.’

Now, this definitely sounds interesting and something that I would personally love to taste someday, and while there are many who are on the same page as me, some are not so down with the change. Here’s how a bunch of Chai lovers reacted to the Tandoori Tea concept, let’s just say, there was an interesting mix in the equation.
