1. Workers Of Trinamool Congress Set BJP’s Hooghly Office Ablaze!
On Wednesday, in a protest by workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the BJP’s office in Hooghly, West Bengal was set ablaze. This is the second attack on a BJP office in West Bengal in the last two days. Yesterday, in a protest against the arrest of TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay, the workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and activists of the TMC’s students’ wing attacked the headquarters of BJP in Kolkata.
2. Big Bash League: Eoin Morgan’s Last Ball Shot Saves The Win!
In a blazing match played between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars, Eoin Morgan smashed a last-ball six and gave his team a famous six-wicket win. The match was played at Sydney Showground Stadium, on 4th January 2017. The Sydney Thunder won by 6 wickets as they smashed 168/4 in 20 overs in answer to the total score of 166/8 in 20 overs by Melbourne Stars. Eoin Morgan did not only ensure the win for his team but also grabbed the Man Of The Match Award.
3. Independent legislator Naresh Sawal Resigns From Goa Assembly.
On Wednesday, the Independent legislator Naresh Sawal resigned as a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly. He took this decision to join the MGP. Naresh Sawal was representing Bicholim constituency in North Goa before resigning. After his resignation, the strength of Goa legislative assembly has come down to 36.
4. 5 Indian-Americans Sworn-in As Members Of US Congress.
On Tuesday, 5 Indian-Americans sworn-in as members of US Congress . All five members are Democrats, three of them, Harris, Bera and Ro Khanna are from California and other two, Raja Krishnamoorthi and Pramila Jayapal are from Illinois and Washington state. Ami Bera was the first Indian-American in the 435-member House of Representatives and now he is joined by four others.
5. Market Touches Lower Shore Towards The Closing.
BSE’s 30-Share benchmark, Sensex closed at 26,633.13 after a loss of 10.11 points at the end of Wednesday’s trade. NSE’s Nifty also closed at 8,190.50 following a negative note with the loss of 1.75 points. Indian Rupee strengthens 28 Paise and came to 68.05. against the US Dollar.
