2. ‘How Speaker treated Opposition’, Sushma Swaraj Takes A Dig At Meira Kumar With A Video.
While taking a dig at Opposition’s presidential candidate Meira Kumar, Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj questioned her neutrality by tweeting a video released by BJP’s official youtube channel, where Meira Kumar is seen repeatedly interrupting the then leader of the opposition during her Lok Sabha speech in 2013. Sushma Swaraj was highlighting the cases of corruption during the United Provincial Alliance’s government, terming it the most support government ever seen with the cases like coal scam and 2G scam. During the six-minute and 23-second clip, Swaraj was interrupted around 60 times by the speaker, who can be seen saying, “Alright, thank you so much. Yes, yes, alright, OK, thank you. Please, I have to now proceed with this Sushmaji. Thank you’.

Meira Kumar is pitted against NDA’s candidate Ram Nath Kovind for the presidential election. The polls will be held on July 17. Pranab Mukherjee, the current Indian President finishes his term on July 24.
3. Kidambi Srikanth Beats Olympic Champion Chen Long To Win Australian Open Super Series Title.
On Sunday, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Olympic and World Champion Chen Long by 22-20, 21-16 to lift the Australian Open Super Series Title and he propelled himself into becoming a prime contender for the Glasgow Worlds after pocketing close to Rs 1 crore as prize money as well as awards in just two weeks. Last week, he won the Indonesian Premier Super Series after overpowering current World No 1 Son Wan Ho. The 24-year-old from Guntur, now living in Hyderabad now, will have all the spotlights at August’s badminton world championships after featuring in three Super Series finals, and winning two.
4. Colombia Boat Mishap: Nine Dead And 28 Missing.
At least nine people were reported dead and another 28 went missing after a tourist boat sank in a reservoir in northwestern Colombia on Sunday. The cause behind the sinking of this four-deck Almirante in the El Penol reservoir has not been declared yet and a massive rescue operation has been launched by the authorities. Out of the 170 passengers, ninety-nine people were rescued by the disaster relief team while 40 more got out on their own.
5. Jammu and Kashmir: More Than A Dozen Injured In Fresh Clashes on Eid.
On Monday, more than a dozen protesters were reported injured in fresh clashes with security forces in Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Reports suggested that clashes were triggered after security personnel resorted to teargas shelling as well as pellet firing after a group of protesters tried to march towards the Valley’s main chowk from Eidgah. Over ten protesters have sustained pellet injuries and the injured have been shifted to Sub-district Hospital in Sopore for treatment.
6. Manushi Chhillar Crowned Femina Miss India World 2017.
Manushi Chhillar from Haryana was crowned the Femina Miss India World 2017 title on Sunday at Yash Raj Film Studio, Mumbai, the first and second runner-ups being Sana Dua from Jammu and Kashmir and Priyanka Kumari from Bihar, respectively. Manushi Chhillar was born to doctor parents and studied at St. Thomas School in Delhi as well as Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. 30 participants were part of this event and were mentored as well as trained by Neha Dhupia, Dipannita Sharma, Waluscha De Sousa, and Parvathy Omanakuttan.
