1. IPS Officer Rakesh Asthana Took Charge of CBI
After Anil Sinha’s retirement as the incumbent director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Rakesh Asthana took charge of the agency. The government hasn’t appointed him as a full-time director, so he will be serving as the interim director. Asthana is a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer of 1984-batch and was serving as the Additional Director of the probe agency till now.
2. Pakistan: Ex- Army Chief Raheel Sharif To Join Politics
Jamaat-e-Islami, the Pakistan’s right–wing has invited the former army chief General Raheel Sharif to join the party. Sharif retired this week after a three-year tenure as an army chief . Wasim Akhtar on Friday invited him to join the party and asked him to help the party to change the face of politics.
3. OnePlus 3T Launched in India
On Friday, at an event in New Delhi the Chinese smartphone company OnePlus launched the premium version of OnePlus 3 in India. They have named it the OnePlus 3T. It will be available on Amazon exclusively and the first sale will go live at 12 am on 14 December 2016.
4. Saina Nehwal Knocked Out Of Macau Open Quarter-finals
Saina Nehwal’s dream to win Macau Open Grand Prix Gold came to an end as she lost the quarterfinal clash against lower-ranked Zhang Yiman of China. Saina suffered a straight-game loss in the women’s singles quarter-final clash on Friday.
5. JKLF Chief Arrested In Srinagar
Muhammad Yasin Malik who is the chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has been arrested in Srinagar on Friday for trying to carry out a protest march from Maisuma area to city center Lal Chowk, along with a group of JKLF activists. The march was intended to uprise pressure on the government to release political prisoners in Kashmir.
