While BJP swooped the seats in Uttar Pradesh’s election results, Goa had a different story to bring out and deal with.
Congress won more seats than BJP in the state, however, as per the Governor, BJP would be forming the government in Goa with Manohar Parrikar as the Chief Minister of the state. Yes, as much it surprises you, we are also confused with the resettlement. Parrikar, who was formerly handling and leading the Defence Ministry of India would now have to relocate his position to being the Chief Minister of Goa.
Congress is not at all happy with this decision because of which they decided to appeal to the Supreme Court in order to get a stay on the oath ceremony, however, the court has refused to put a stay on the ceremony. To this, Congress responded in congratulating Manohar Parrikar on being the Chief Minister of Goa for 2 days. The entire situation seems to come out of a well thought out script of a new television show (which would totally be followed by many).
But one has to admit that there’s no one far more destitute than Congress as of now which had a majority in three states but would only have to do away with Punjab in their hands.
Even many Goa citizens have come out against the new CM Parrikar, and have been conducting a protest in the state with ‘Not My CM’ banners. Who knows what would eventually happen to Parrikar, BJP, Congress and Goa, in the coming days, but as of now, many are enjoying the current ‘pass the parcel’ with Parrikar.
Twitterati reacts to Goa CM Manohar Parrikar
Parrikar leaving Defence and becoming CM Goa is like taking Arts after scoring 99.6 in HSC exams 🙂

Parrikar going back to Goa is good news in the interest of nation. Already 100s of Congress MPs in BJP, now BJP must import RM too from INC!

First make him Goa CM, then put him in a project in Delhi, again make him CM. BJP using Manohar Parrikar like TCS, Infosys use Engineers.
