The RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) declares that their members will now wear a pair of trousers instead of traditional Khaki shorts. On Sunday Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh said that the members will now do away with the khaki shorts and opt for a pair of trousers.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi told the media that they have taken the decision to change the dress code for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s sevaks and they will be replacing the khaki shorts with brown pants.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also opposed the custom of ban on the entry of women in some of the temples in the country. They said that it is an unfair tradition and it should be done away with through discussion.
The decision to opt the wood brown/coffee colour trousers over the khaki shorts was taken in the three-day-annual meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is the highest decision making body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Joshi explained that the trousers are more common in today’s life and the RSS is a body who moves forward with the time, hence they have no hesitation in changing the dress code. He also added that it may take four to six months for the dress code change to take effect as the message has to be communicated to at least 50,000 villages, towns and cities in the country.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader feels that the trouser will not be a problem during the exercises and the drills and this new change will attract more young people towards the RSS.
He said that there is no specific reason to change the dress code, except the fact that it is easily available and the colour looks good.
