Anupam Kher, the veteran Bollywood actor is quite a talk of the town these days due to his political speeches and comments. On Wednesday, he said that “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” should be the “only definition” of nationalism for all the people who lives in India.
Anupam Kher tweeted, “The only definition of nationalism for Bharatwasis (Indians) should be ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Rest all are escape routes.”

The comment made by him was targeting the hot issue where the leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi refused chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
Asaduddin Owaisi said,”I don’t chant that slogan. What are you going to do, (Mohan) Bhagwat sahab”. The MP of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad further added:”I won’t utter that (slogan) even if you put a knife to my throat”.
Asaduddin Owaisi disturbing statement came after the chief Mohan Bhagwat of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) announced that the new Indian generation needs to be taught to chant the slogans hailing Mother India. Owaisi supported his comment by stating that Indian constitution does not ask him to do so.
The well-known lyricist and Rajya Sabha MP Javed Akhtar also reacted without targeting Asaduddin Owaisi. He stated “He said he will not say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as the constitution does not require him to say so. The constitution even does not ask him to wear sherwani (dress) and topi (cap)… I don’t care to know whether saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is my duty or not, it is my right”.
With that tweet, Javed Akhtar totally slammed the leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi. Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has also been filed against Asaduddin Owaisi in the High Court of Allahabad for his speech, where he said that he will not chant the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
The denial of saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai by Asaduddin Owaisi is currently picking in the game of politics. Who knows what next will be coming out of any celebrities tweets and comments.
