Balraj Madhok who was a founder leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and was sacked from the party later died at the age of 96 years on Monday.
Balraj had been ill for some days, took his last breath around 9.00 a.m. He was at his residence in New Rajendra Nagar in central Delhi. PM Narendra Modi said that Balraj was a selflessly devoted person to the country and society and his ideological commitment was strong and clarity of thought immense.
Balraj was Born in Skardu now in Pakistan on 25 February 1920 and completed his education from Srinagar and Lahore. He became a member of the RSS in Lahore, two years before he graduated in 1940.
In 1942, Balraj became a full-time member of the RSS. he became politically active in Jammu and Kashmir.
Balraj was also a founder of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1951 which is an RSS student wing.
