One soldier and two militants killed today in an encounter, going on in the Bandipora district of Kashmir between the militants and security forces.
The police said that they received an information about the militant’s presence in Manzpora village in Bandipora, after which 13 Rashtriya Rifles and special operation group went in for a security check and the flushing out operation started. The firing broke out from the militant’s side which caused various injuries to the soldiers.
Another major encounter broke out in Sopore, Baramulla, between the Indian army and the militants while a search operation was being conducted. The operation was proceeding in Tujjar Village of Sopore, after the presence of militants in the village was tipped off. Abdul Majeed, a newly-recruited militant, surrenders himself to the forces.
This news came days after two militants were killed in the Bandipora district on Tuesday and one killed in Kakapora area of Pulwama district on Saturday. Earlier, three Indian army soldiers were killed, one of them was mutilated as per Indian Army’s Northern Command’s tweet, in an encounter in Machil sector along the Jammu & Kashmir Line of Control (LoC).
After this encounter, Indian army launched fire assault at various Pakistani posts along the Line of Control, which resulted in 12 Pakistani civilians’ death.
UN Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon released a statement, today morning, in which he expressed his serious concerns over India and Pakistan’s situation and current encounters between both the nations in Kashmir. He also said that they are going to prioritise the restoration of peace and stability between India and Pakistan.
