One person has died in a blast in the Naya Bazaar area of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi. The explosion took place around 11 am in the morning today in which one person has reportedly died and several people are injured.
The blast happened in a bustling commercial area of Naya Bazaar in narrow lanes and closely packed structures and also damaged the windowpanes of the surrounding buildings
The police have stated that the cause of the explosion is not certain yet but various media reports have already confirmed contrasting causes of the explosion.
Where some mentioned that the cause of the explosion is a cylinder blast in the wholesale market, some other media reports suggest that it was caused due to some explosive material which a man was carrying in a sack.
The reports also have contrasting opinions about the dead person. Few reports stated that the person who was carrying the firecrackers or explosive material was killed in the blast while other reports asserted it was a garbage picker.
