1. Dilip Kumar Hospitalised
Legendary Actor Dilip Kumar was admitted in Leelawati Hospital on Tuesday. The veteran experienced a swelling in his right leg and has been put under observation. His wife Saira Banu said that Dilip Kumar was also suffering from cough and cold. Dilip Kumar will turn 94 this Sunday and we hope he gets better by that time.
2. Fog Engulfs Delhi, Trains Delayed
Delhiites woke up to a dense fog surrounding them and MeT department recorded zero visibility in Palam at 5:30 am. Visibility at Safdarjung area was recorded at 100 metres at 5:30 am. Three trains have been cancelled as of now and 81 are running late according to their schedule.
3. Cho S Ramaswamy Dies At the age of 82
Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy breathed for the last time at Appolo Hospital, Chennai at 4:15 am, Wednesday. Known as Cho Ramaswamy, he was an actor, comedian, editor, political satirist, playwright, dialogue writer, film director and lawyer in Tamil Nadu. He shared a good rapport with politicians like Narendra Modi and J. Jayalalithaa. Ramaswamy’s body has been shifted to his Chennai home and his funeral is scheduled on Wednesday.
4. Banda Aceh, an Indonesian City suffers a 6.4 Magnitude Earthquake
25 people have been reported dead and numerous houses were demolished in an aftermath of a 6.4 magnitude earthquake, that struck in the wee hours of Wednesday, at Banda Aceh City of Indonesia.
5. ISRO’s PSLV Launched with ResourceSat-2A Satellite
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched its PSLV C36 ResourceSat-2A today at 10.25 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The 1235 kg, C36 ResourceSat-2A will be placed into an 817 km Polar Sun Orbit.
6. Rupee Gets Strong, Gains 12 Paise Against Dollar.
Rupee continued its recovery path on Wednesday and gained a substantial 12 paise against US Dollar. Sensex also registered a growth of 77.17 points and traded at 26,469.93 points in the early trade of Wednesday.
