1. IIM Lucknow accomplishes 100% placement in 3 days.
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, on Monday announced that they have achieved a 100% placement for their 31st batch of 435 students in a record-breaking time of three days. Over 170 domestic and international recruiters were part of this recruitment drive. Sales and Marketing, Consulting, Business Development and Finance were the top sectors.
2. Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu would represent India at Asia Championship.
India’s top two badminton player, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are included in India’s team for Asia Mixed Team Championships in Vietnam. The Championship is scheduled from 14th Feb to 19th Feb. While PV Sindhu won an Olympic Silver at Rio 2016, Saina Nehwal won an Olympic Bronze at London 2012.
3. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to put a hold on VK Sasikala’s swearing as Tamil Nadu’s CM.
Earlier today, Tamil Nadu’s incumbent Chief Minister resigned from his position and Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao accepted his resignation. Soon after his resignation, the party chose their Sasikala as their legislative leader. It should be noted that VK Sasikala is not a member of the assembly and her swearing as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has already created a lot of stir among the people. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to put a hold on VK Sasikala’s swearing as Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister.
4. India would be hosting World Billiards Championship for next 4 years.
India would be hosting World Billiards Championship for the next 4 years, as announced by the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI). Even last year, the championship was hosted in the country and it took place in Bengaluru, which was won by Pankaj Advani.
5. J Jayalalithaa died of multiple organ failures, revealed by her doctors.
After two months of J Jayalalithaa’s demise, her doctors came together to speak about the details of her death. They said that because of an infection, Jayalalithaa suffered from multiple organ failures which led to her death. The doctors also revealed that Ms Jayalalithaa’s family paid Rs 5.5 crore for her treatment at the Apollo Hospital.
6. Harley-Davidson plans to roll out almost 50 new models in next 5 years.
Harley Davidson has planned to introduce as much as 50 new models in the market in next five years. They have also decided to increase drivers by opening new dealerships globally to increase sales and numbers. This plan was disclosed by the company’s CEO and President Matt Levatich, after the release fourth quarter and annual 2016 earnings of the company. In 2016, Harley-Davidson introduced 40 new dealerships across the globe and plans to increase that number by 400 by 2020.
