Hundreds of people are lining up outside the banks to get their money deposited and exchanged but they are not the only one’s who are suffering. The employees of banks are equally going through the stress as they have to handle customers at multiple folds.
Another employee, who was a 56-year-old bank manager has died of a massive heart attack in Haryana. The Hindustan Times reported that the bank manager Rajesh Kumar, served for three frantic days and handled hundreds of customers and was found dead in his chambers on Wednesday morning.
After the government’s shocking withdrawal of high-value currency, Rajesh spent three nights in the bank as the workload was increased. After the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were withdrawn, millions of people lined up to exchange the old currency or deposit it, because of which banks were asked to open early and close late so that a large number of people can exchange or deposit their money everyday.
This extra effort demanded from bankers did not only increased the workload but also put pressure. The police said that due to the increased workload Rajesh was sleeping in the bank. His family also revealed that he was already taking medicines for heart disease.
On Wednesday, the security guard of the bank knocked Rajesh’s office but after getting no reply he alerted other employees. The colleagues called in the police, who broke the door and found his dead body.
The 56-year-old bank manager was a resident of Gurgaon and is survived by his wife and two children.
Rajesh is not the only banker who have lost his life after the Note Ban, there are many bank employees who died of excessive workload.
