1. Cyclone ‘Vardah’, all set to hit north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coast
The cyclonic disturbance would hit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on Monday afternoon. While the winds are said to come at 80 to 90 kmph, heavy rains are supposed to range from 15 to 20 cm. Multiple emergency helplines are set up by the said government for public’s safety. Nearly 50 flights have been diverted or delayed due to the cyclone ‘vardah’.

3. A total of 82 trains delayed and 16 cancelled due to fog.
Apart from this, 23 trains were rescheduled as the visibility in certain parts of North India dropped to 400 metres on Monday. Various international flights arriving in Delhi have also been delayed.
4. Bill English is New Zealand’s new Prime Minister.
After last week’s surprising resignation of PM John Key, New Zealand has a new Prime Minister. Bill English, the 39th Prime Minister, was the leader of National Party along with being the Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand as well as Minister of Finance.
5. Students in Oxford would now address fellow students with ‘Ze’, rather than ‘He’ or ‘She’.
Oxford university guidelines its students to use a much more gender-neutral term while addressing their fellows. This has been rolled out in order to prevent transgender students being vexed.
