The wife of National Investigation Agency officer Tanzil Ahmed who was injured with bullets died at the AIIMS in Delhi on Wednesday. The couple was shot in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district by unidentified assailants.
21 bullets were shot on Tanzil in the dreadful attack on 3rd April in Bijnor and his wife received 4 bullet injuries. The couple was waylaid post-midnight when they were returning from a wedding and shot in Bijnor district.
Tanzil’s wife was taken at the intensive care unit of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). She was admitted at the trauma centre at 10:45 a.m.
An INA officer reported, “She was battling for life following the bullet injuries. Her last rites will be held at Jamia Millia Campus Burial Ground at 6.30 p.m.”
Initially Farzana was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Noida but later she was shifted to AIIMS in Delhi. Ahmad was an assistant commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF) who was on deputation with the NIA as an inspector since 2010.
